My aim as an artist is to use the eyes of my heart to penetrate this concrete world and to fill the viewer with awe by rendering the sublime.
– Nicora Gangi
These exquisite, luminous paintings are a perfect fit for MME. Gangi's breathtaking and contemplative works of art are infused with an evocative light quality which is reminiscent of the classic, romantic paintings by the masterful Hudson River School artists of the19th century who inspired her majestic vision.
Born in Indiana, Gangi was educated at the Harford Art School, Montclair State College and Syracuse University where she received a BFA and MFA. She served on the faculty of Syracuse University teaching Studio Arts and Design Programs. She lectures and exhibits regionally and nationally and has received many awards for her beautiful works of art which have also been published in many books. The artist has recently moved to New York City where her inspiration for the Hudson River School artists continues to grow.
