Artist Biography

Born in Vancouver, BC, Lee Lash later studied at the Bates Academy in San Francisco before leaving for Paris to study with Boulanger and Lefebvre. After eight years in Paris, he established a studio in San Francisco and taught at the School of Design from 1891 to 1893. Later, Lee and his brother Samuel established the Lee Lash Theater Curtain Company in New York City, where Lee would paint the center pieces in the curtains for the Vaudeville Stage.
